FUHR multitronic 881 Door Lock Kit

Electric, motorised multipoint locking system with integrated panic function suitable for aluminium, timber, composite or PVCu main entrance doors in residential and non-residential buildings.

All locking parts automatically extend and engage when the door is closed, including the deadbolt. The door is opened from the inside by either lever handle or panic push bar. From the outside the door is opened either via access control system (radio key, fingerprint scanner, transponder or keypad) or by the free movement cylinder in the case of power failure.

The sophisticated system for all eventualities

The multitronic 881 is always the first choice for electromechnical locking, its intelligent technology and modular system are versatile and suitable for many applications. The standard kit includes all required system components, all ready to connect and all concealed into the door frame and sash. This allows door fabricators to supply a door where the function has been fully tested ready to install and connect by a qualified electrician.

The modular format with individual components is ideally suited to implementing project specific requirements. It is perfect for integrating into existing buildings. All system components are effortless to fit and the electrical installation is very straightforward. Adding further functions later on is also no problem. We offer bespoke solutions for a vast variety of requirements, please enquire for more information.

Can I use the multitronic for commercial applications?

Yes, the hardware is fully tested and accredited and can be used on any door profile system including aluminium, composite, PVC or timber. Panic and emergency exit configurations are available to meet EN 179 or EN 1125 - please let us know on ordering if you need your door to comply with these standards. The system can be fully integrated into existing alarm systems or building management systems, please let us know you full specifications.

How do I fit the multitronic 881?

Fitting has been made simple, with pre-assembled plug-in connectors, this really is a plug and play electronic lock solution. Full installation and maintenance guides are supplied with every order, bespoke to your door profile and the access control options selected, even including profile specific cut-out templates. We are of course on hand should you have any technical issues and can provide full, comprehensive training.

Do I have to order a standard FUHR multitronic 881 kit?

We supply the multitronic as a kit as standard, this will be suitable for most door solutions. However, should you have specific electronic lock requirements, please speak with us as we can customise your door lock package based on your needs or for a bespoke project.

Are the door lock and access control components complicated to install?

The solution provided by SmartSecure is easy to install and comprehensive assistance is available throughout the process. The lock requires just four additional routings compared to a standard multipoint lock, this allows the transformer and cabling to be fully concealed into the frame. If any assistance is needed, we are on hand to support – as with all our hardware products, comprehensive service and technical assistance is readily available.

Can I use the multitronic 881 door lock with existing building management systems?

Yes, the multi-functional control unit is pre-configured for a range of system requirements and degrees of complexity. Inputs and outputs are available for access control systems, intercom, building management, tamper signals for alarms, automatic door openers and more. To discuss your specific project requirements please get in touch.

Is there a guarantee with the multitronic 881?

Yes, the multitronic has a 10 year mechanical guarantee on the door lock and 1 year guarantee on any electrical components.

What devices are compatible with the SmartConnect easy app?

The SmartConnect easy app is currently compatible with iOS and Android phones.

How can I ensure my FUHR 881 is working correctly?

Step 1 Remove the magnet from the frame

Step 2 Close the door until the tappets on the hinge side touch the contact plate (don't fully close the door)

Step 3 Place the magnet against the small circule within the magnet part of the door lock

Step 4 If the hook locking points extend, then the lock is working correctly.

What happens in a power cut or if the power glitches?

The lock is designed to be fail secure from the outside and fail safe from the inside. In the event of a power failure you can always get into the building with a mechanical key and always leave safely using a lever handle – this provides the best of both worlds.

What if I lose my fob?

The control unit on the 881 can be reset. Lost fobs will no longer work and replacement fobs can be programmed onto the control unit. This is a major advancement over the traditional key.

New or replacement user fobs can be ordered from us at any time.

Do I have to use FUHR access control systems as I currently install another brand?

The FUHR multitronic range offers a comprehensive range of access control options including biometric, radio controlled and smart phone systems. However, we understand that not every application will require the same solution. The multi-functional control unit is designed to allow for almost any access control system to be fitted, we have not yet found one that is not compatible.

If you do want to source your own access control, all we ask it that you send us the technical details so that we can check that it will work before you order.

Can I integrate intercom systems?

Yes, multiple third party products can be integrated into the 881 SmartSecure solution. For example, Intercoms, fire alarms systems and door operators, as well as other products, can be plugged directly into the control unit and work with the lock. Not only that, you can also integrate other access control solutions to operate the door lock – we haven’t found one yet that isn’t compatible.

Optimised cable guides

Cable guide plates prevent potential cable damage during fixing and should always be used as advised in the instruction manual. Cover faceplates with angled caps conceal all wiring for a clean, attractive rebate. While rubber protective brushes cover any sharp-edged drill holes.

Depending on the profile, individual or a one-piece keep plate including magnetic contact is supplied. The locking action is triggered by the detection of the magnet contact by the sensor on the motorised drive mechanism.
