The Cotswold restrictor friction stays feature a simple built in child resistant catch, which limits opening. Opening the window fully is a quick and easy one-handed operation for an adult.
The child resistant catch limits the opening to 100mm maximum when restricted. Built in quick release levers allow windows to be fully opened for easy cleaning confirming to BS 8213 Part 1:2004. The restrictor catch automatically resets when the window is closed.
Tested to CE requirements and BS EN 14351 to 350N at the weakest point.
For top hung applications, a pair of restricted frictions stays are required. For side hung however, one Restricted friction stay should be used on the bottom of the sash, the top sash should be fitted with a nonrestricted friction stay on the top. The non-restricted friction stay must be the HS212 or HS216 to ensure opening angles are correct.
Ferretic steel suitable for normal applications supplied as standard.
Austenitic steel suitable for coastal / high humidity areas available for special order.

Restricted stays are sold as EACH, Left or Right hand. Always use a pair on Top Hung windows (one left and one right hand).
On Side Hung windows, always use one restricted hinge on the bottom and one special hinge on the top. The standard stay has a different opening angle therefore the window would not operate correctly.
