Coronavirus Update - 17th March 2020

In light of the Government announcement relating to the Coronavirus, I want to reassure you that we are taking all precautions necessary to protect staff and supply.

Stock Management & Distribution

To ensure we are able to continue serving our existing customers, we ask that you purchase at your usual levels and not over-order. We have systems in place to help prevent this and allow us to manage our stock to ensure supply.

With this in mind, we are also asking you to work with us and look to revise your ordering schedule and order earlier. If possible, please place orders a day in advance. This will allow us to overcome any unforeseen business distruption such as courier delays and the risk of our own staff shortages due to illness.

Temporary Revised Delivery Procedure

As advised by our delivery partners, we will be implementing a temporary delivery procedure, as follows:

  • If our customer refuses to sign for a delivery on a hand held device, the driver will enter their name and enter CV (Coronavirus) in the signature field.
  • The Customer will have the opportunity at this point to confirm any damage or missing parcels. This can not be reported through their Claims Process at a later date.
  • The CV signature will be classed as a successful delivery.
  • Claims will be processed in line with usual terms and conditions of sale.
  • The temporary revised delivery procedure is subject to revision.

Working from Home & Contacting CFG

During the next few days we will be transitioning office and field staff to work from home. We have a strong IT infrastructure which will enable you to call and email us as usual. If you do have any issues, please email sales@carlfgroupco.co.uk and we will respond within 30 minutes.

Hygiene and Staff Welfare

We have implemented strict hygiene controls within our distribution centres and have stopped all non-essential visitors and meetings.

These are exceptional times for us all, and I am proud of my team for continuing their commitment to serve our customers. We are working with a 'business as usual' approach, albeit out of the norm.

We will keep you updated via email, our website and social media channels of any future changes to our business operations.

May I take this opportunity to wish you, your colleagues and your family's the very best, particularly in the coming weeks and months ahead.

John Crittenden, Managing Director
