The staff at Carl F Groupco's Peterborough head quarters have been raising money from a 'dress down Friday' initiative. The fundraising which has been running for a few years requires each participant to dontate 50p to the designated charity each week to 'dress down' on a Friday.
This year, the company has supported Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Bobbie-Leigh, Lyn and Julie recently visited their popular Friendship Club in Peterborough to present the cheque of £500 raised.
Beverley Young, Communications and Campaigns Manager Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough said, "It is so thoughtful that the business and all their staff have done this throughout the year, then chose us as beneficiaries. Contributions, such as this really make a difference to our local charity helping us to support older people and we are very grateful. Many people don't realise, that whilst we are part of a Brand partnership (nationally called Age UK), we are an independent local charity and we have to raise all of our own funds to deliver our services to the older people living in our area. Each year this becomes more challenging and therefore all donations and fundraising activities are very appreciated."
